Respect for urban solitude
Most of us take the subway to enjoy the human connection; however, the sign seems to have taken British culture on a serious note. This is a place where a person would instead stare at your shoes rather than the floor. It must have been placed on the glass as a joke, but it is an excellent way to enjoy urban solitude.
Someone rubbed off the sides of the sign in hopes of continuing the intrusive gazing on the train. On a closer look, it is something that we all need to give thought to. Some might argue that it is a way to severe the vibes.
