A Retrospective Of The Brown Sisters Through The Years

Wearing The Color Of Grieving In 2003

The Brown sisters turned away from the sun, the wind blowing the hair towards their faces, and their expressions neutral. The setting, the looks, and the image all speak of a mourning feeling they were trying to hide. Feeling too emotionally vulnerable to stand tall and ask the world to come and witness them, the sisters condense towards each other.

Only they can understand the other’s suffering. With the beginning of the invasion of Iraq by the United States, perhaps they too had members of their family also enlisted, which caused their morose expressions.
