Cassandra Peterson – Now 70 years old
Television fans of the ’80s are very familiar with actress Cassandra Peterson’s face, at least when she’s all in costume as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. According to sources, before Peterson was offered the horror-hostess role, she auditioned for the Ginger Grant in Gilligan’s Island. Luckily, she landed her life-changing role of Elvira.
Peterson also enjoyed fame as Elvira in the T.V. show Elvira’s Movie Macabre and the movies Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and another one Elvira’s Haunted Hills. Apart from her acting career, Peterson was more admired after she came out as an LGBTQ community member.
