The Oldest Celebrities who Are Doing Amazing in Retirement

Paul Brickman – Age 73

Paul Brickman is an impeccable screenwriter and film director who achieved success in the early 1980s with his movie Risky Business, which starred Tom Cruise. Before switching to directing, Brickman started off writing eccentric movies like Jonathan Demme’s Handle with Care, and The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training. Brickman grew up in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park after being born there.

Paul’s father, cartoonist Morrie Brickman, is the author of the well-known comic strip “The Small Society.” In 1967, he received his high school diploma from Highland Park. On the 2001 NBC miniseries Uprising, Brickman and Jon Avnet split writing credit. Allison is the only other short film he has directed.
