Kirk Wise – Age 58
American director, animator, and screenwriter Kirk Wise has been involved with the animation business since the early 1980s. Wise has directed three Disney animated films: the Oscar-nominated Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Wise was raised in and around the Bay area, primarily in Palo Alto.
Artistic since a child, at the tender age of 7, he received his first payment for a sketch. After graduating, Wise worked on The Brave Little Toaster and Family Dog, an animated episode of Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories, as an animation contributor. He animated for Oliver & Company and The Great Mouse Detective when he was back at Disney.
