THESE BEACH PHOTOS WILL BRING JOY TO YOUR DAY WITH THEIR AWESOME AND RIDICULOUS NATURE
SECURITY MEASURES
Who would dare to steal a worn-out pair of sandals, you may wonder? Well, it appears that this particular location, likely situated near the beach, has become a breeding ground for flip-flop thieves. The owner of these sandals had to resort to extreme measures to protect their cherished footwear. However, even with a lock in place, a determined and slippery thief could still manage to abscond with the sandals. These summer-approved shoes are known by various names, but they gained official recognition as “flip-flops” in the 1960s. The term was coined to describe the distinct clapping sound they make while walking, and it has stuck ever since. The popularity and reverence for this type of footwear are so immense that the third Friday in June is dedicated to celebrating National Flip-Flop Day.
